Common questions
Is surgery my only option for a disc bulge?
Not usually. Many people with a lower back disc bulge improve with physiotherapy. We'll explain your options after your assessment.
Should I bring my MRI?
Bring any X-ray, MRI or scan reports you have. No scans? That's fine. We'll assess you and tell you if you need one.
When is it an emergency?
If you have numbness around the groin, trouble passing urine or stool, or weakness in your legs, go to hospital straight away.
See a doctor urgently if you have numbness around the groin, trouble controlling your bladder or bowels, or weakness in both legs.
Your message: "Hi, I'd like to book an appointment at Katasi Physiotherapy for a disc bulge in my lower back."
