Do I need a doctor's referral?
No. You can book directly on WhatsApp. If you already have a referral letter, X-ray, MRI or scan report, bring it along. It helps us see the full picture. No scans yet? That's fine. We'll assess you at your consultation and advise you from there.
How long will my visit take?
Your first visit takes about 1 hour 15 minutes. It includes your assessment and your first treatment, so plan a little extra time afterwards. Follow-up visits are usually shorter; we tell you what to expect once we've assessed you.
I'm in a lot of pain right now. Should I wait until it settles?
No, come in. Early treatment usually calms pain faster and stops it from becoming a long-term problem. We adjust treatment to what your body can handle that day.
What should I wear?
Something loose and comfortable that lets us reach the painful area: shorts for knee or hip pain, a vest or loose top for neck, shoulder or back pain. Come straight from the office if you need to and tell us; we'll work around it.
Does dry needling hurt?
The needles are very thin, much finer than an injection needle. Most people feel a quick pinch or a deep muscle twitch, then relief. Soreness like after a workout can last a day. You can always say no; we have other ways to treat you.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the problem and how long you've had it. After your first assessment we tell you what to expect, and we check your progress at every visit. Our aim is to get you managing on your own with home exercises, not to keep you coming back.
Should I rest or keep moving?
For most back, neck and joint pain, gentle movement helps more than bed rest. We show you which movements are safe for you and which to avoid for now.
When should I see a doctor instead?
Go to hospital first if pain follows a serious fall or accident, or if you have numbness around the groin, trouble controlling your bladder or bowels, sudden weakness in your legs, unexplained weight loss or fever with back pain. If we find anything during your assessment that needs a doctor, we'll refer you.
Can I book for my parent or someone else?
Yes. Send us their name and what's bothering them on WhatsApp. Family members are welcome to come in with them.
